17 Community Living Rooms for Redbridge residents to keep warm – free of charge

Redbridge Council, in collaboration with local organisations, has introduced 17 Community Living Rooms across the Redbridge borough, providing residents with free, warm, and welcoming spaces to relax, socialise, and participate in activities.

These spaces, which include libraries, faith centres, and community halls, offer a safe and comfortable environment for those looking to escape the cold without financial concerns.

Where Can Residents Find These Free Warm Spaces?

The network of Community Living Rooms spans across various locations, including:

Who Can Use Redbridge’s Community Living Rooms?

The initiative is open to all residents, particularly those who may struggle with heating costs during winter. The spaces are designed to be inclusive and accessible, with some offering quiet areas, refreshments, and social activities.

Will More Locations Be Added?

Redbridge Council has confirmed that the network will expand, with more organisations encouraged to join. Residents are advised to check the council’s website for updates on new locations and activities.

How Can Organisations Get Involved?

Local community groups, businesses, and places of worship interested in joining the initiative can contact Melinda Woodgate from the Household Support Team for further details on how to participate.

By expanding this initiative, Redbridge Council aims to ensure that no resident is left without a warm and welcoming place to go during the colder months.
