What Happened in the Hackney Road Accident?

HACKNEY, LONDON – A cyclist has been taken to hospital after a collision with a car on Kingsland Road in Hackney. The incident occurred on Friday, February 21, prompting road closures and traffic diversions in the area.

According to Metropolitan Police, emergency services were called at 2.10pm to reports of a car and cyclist collision. The cyclist was taken to hospital, and officers are awaiting an update on their condition.

The accident took place on Kingsland Road, a major route running between Shoreditch High Street and Dalston Kingsland.

Traffic monitoring site Inrix reported that the road has been shut from Bentley Road to A104 Dalston Lane (Dalston Junction) since 3pm, with crash investigators working at the scene.

London Ambulance Service Statement:

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson added:

“We were called at 2pm today (February 21) to reports of a road traffic collision at the junction of Bentley Road and Kingsland Road, Hackney.

We sent an ambulance crew to the scene and treated a patient before taking them to hospital as a priority.”
