Where did the Hackney collision happen?

The crash occurred at the junction of New North Road and Mintern Street near Hoxton. Emergency services were called at 05:52am following reports of a pedestrian being hit by a car. Police and the London Ambulance Service arrived to find a man in his 60s with life-threatening injuries.

What is the man’s current condition?

The pedestrian was rushed to hospital where his injuries were later deemed non life-threatening. Authorities have not released further details on his identity.

Have there been any arrests?

No arrests have been made in connection with the incident. A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said, “Police were called at 05:52hrs on Tuesday, 8 April to reports of a road traffic collision in New North Road, N1. Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended and found a pedestrian in collision with a car. The pedestrian, aged in his 60s, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. No arrests have been made. Enquiries continue.”

Were roads or buses affected in Hackney?

New North Road and Mintern Street were closed for several hours while collision investigation work was carried out. According to AA News, the roads have since reopened. Bus services 21, 76, 141 and 394 were temporarily diverted but have resumed normal routes.
