What Did the Police Discover?

Upon questioning, officers discovered that two of the women were carrying multiple travel cards, which they could not explain the origins of, leading to immediate concerns about possible fraudulent activity. The women were detained on suspicion of possessing false or stolen items.

What Was the Outcome for the Women Involved?

Following the investigation at the scene, two of the women received official police cautions. This means they acknowledged their involvement but will not face further court proceedings at this time. However, the third woman remains under investigation. Authorities are continuing to probe the matter to understand whether additional crimes were committed, particularly regarding the source of the travel cards.

Is the Investigation Still Ongoing?

Yes, the investigation is ongoing. The police are continuing their enquiries into the matter, aiming to determine the full extent of any potential fraudulent activity or further offences that may have occurred.

Local authorities are urging anyone with information related to this case to come forward. The stop and search operation highlights ongoing efforts to combat fraud and other criminal activity in Romford Town Centre.
