Two young men were hospitalised following a double stabbing in Harold Hill, east London, on Monday afternoon, as police launched an investigation into the linked attacks. Emergency services were called to Coltsfoot Path, Romford, at approximately 12.50pm on 21 April, where a 20-year-old man was discovered with stab wounds. Shortly after, a second victim, aged 19, was found nearby in Lavender Close. Both victims were treated at the scene by paramedics before being transported to hospital, with their injuries assessed as non-life-threatening.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed that a man has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm (GBH) and remains in custody.
What happened in Harold Hill on April 21?
Officers first responded to reports from the London Ambulance Service about a man with stab wounds in Coltsfoot Path. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said:
“Police were called by the London Ambulance Service to Coltsfoot Path, Romford, at around 12:48hrs on Monday, 21 April to reports of a man with stab wounds. A 20-year-old man has been taken to hospital, his injuries are neither life-threatening nor life-changing.”
Minutes later, police were alerted to another injured male, aged 19, found close by at Lavender Close. He too was taken to hospital, with injuries similarly not deemed life-threatening or life-changing.
