From 16–20 March, the Between People Gallery in the AVA Building at the University of East London’s Docklands Campus will host See Her When You See Her, a free exhibition celebrating female and non-binary artists, creatives, architects and designers. The exhibition aims to promote and celebrate marginalised voices and experiences, bringing together works by students alongside contributions from external artists.
The exhibition forms part of the March Takeover, a student-led programme of exhibitions, workshops and events designed to encourage inclusivity within the UEL community. Led by BA Fine Art students Jasmine Farmer, Svetlana Tikhonova and Emanuela Graziano, the show highlights emerging voices while creating a space for conversation, exchange and creative expression.
Alongside student contributions, the exhibition will also feature work by Italian artist Mariella Costa, presenting visual material from Parco degli Dei, a sculpture park in Calabria created through the regeneration of a former concrete factory. The project combines art, ecology and mythology, transforming industrial remnants into a landscape of sustainable sculptures and community cultural space.
A private view will take place on 17 March, featuring an evening of art, performance and conversation, with a live DJ and a complimentary drink included with each ticket.
Everyone is warmly invited to attend and support the participating students and artists.
