Nasima Islam, Founder and Chair of Wish Foundation, has been Highly Commended in the “Sector Impact of the Year” category at the Tower Hamlets Women’s Awards 23 march 2026, organised by Tower Hamlets Council.

This recognition highlights her significant contribution to supporting vulnerable individuals and families across Tower Hamlets. Through Wish Foundation, Nasima Islam has led a range of impactful community initiatives, including weekly food bank services, elder coffee mornings, digital hub and outreach programmes aimed at reducing hardship and social isolation.

Under her leadership, Wish Foundation has become a vital source of support for many local residents, delivering consistent and meaningful assistance to those in need. Her work continues to strengthen community cohesion and provide essential help to underserved groups.

Speaking about the recognition, Nasima Islam said:

“I am truly honoured to be Highly Commended. This recognition reflects the dedication of our volunteers and the strength of our community. We remain committed to continuing our work and expanding our support for those who need it most.”

This achievement builds on her previous recognitions, including the Tower Hamlets Civic Award and Volunteer of the Year Award, demonstrating her sustained commitment to community development and social impact.

Looking ahead, Wish Foundation aims to expand its initiatives further, with a focus on digital inclusion, community empowerment, and creating long-term opportunities for residents.
