Thursday 4th June, 2026 – An Arsenal season-ticket holder is celebrating a memorable end to his team’s Premier League title-winning campaign, after scooping a £73,653 jackpot with The Pools.
Robert, 67, who lives in Chingford, successfully selected eight score draws from the final weekend of the domestic season to claim the Classic Pools prize from a £1 stake.
A semi-retired painter-decorator, the Gunners fan has been playing The Pools for over 40 years and has now seen a historic season for his beloved team capped off with a five-figure payout.
The latest win follows recent successes for players of The Pools in Milton Keynes and King’s Lynn, who shared a £295,230 Rollover Jackpot in April.

Robert said:
“I was in absolute shock when I got the phone call – I thought it was a scam at first! I went on The Pools’ website to double check, and there they were, my numbers – it was all real.
“Two days later, I was flying out to Budapest for the Champions League final to watch the Arsenal – the timing couldn’t have been more perfect.
“I’ve been playing The Pools since I was 18 in the late 1980s, and I’ve picked those same numbers since I started. I’ve won a few quid here and there, but nothing close to this.
“I’ve always liked The Pools because it’s not a lot of money to play. I had the collector that came to my house many moons ago, and then there was a time where I would go to the local shop to hand in the coupon.
“I bought a new flat around four years ago, so I’m going to spend a bit on that, hopefully get a new kitchen fitted.
“I’m an Arsenal season ticket holder and have been to every game, home and away, for the last three years. This money will help pay for a few European away days too next season – hopefully Mikel Arteta and the boys can go all the way next time and win the Champions League.
“I’m a semi-retired painter-decorator, so it’s a very nice help in that regard too.”
