This week, UAL’s London College of Fashion are opening their studio to Darcey Fleming for her immersive exhibition. Free to the public, the studio takeover will run from 7 October to 11 October at the London College of Fashion campus in Stratford.

What is the exhibition?

Fleming completely transforms the space into “wearable” sculptures, and “squares” of discarded twine donated by local farmers. Visitors are encouraged to walk through her work and chat to Darcey herself as she weaves even more twine in the studio. The artist hopes the exhibition will spark fascination and intrigue in guests.

Who is the artist?

Fleming works across sculpture, photography, video and performance, often using discarded materials as the base of her work. She has hosted exhibitions across London, notably at the Saatchi Gallery and the MK Gallery. The artist has been featured in Vogue Portugal, W Magazine, i-D Magazine and more.

The event is presented in collaboration with the East London Arts Prize and run by Bow Arts. Fleming is also hosting an exclusive late opening on Wednesday evening (8 October), running from 5pm to 8:30pm in the space.
