East London‘s food scene has welcomed another major international brand with the arrival of Dave’s Hot Chicken, the fast-growing Nashville-style fried chicken chain backed by celebrity investors including rapper Drake. The company has officially opened its newest UK restaurant at Westfield Stratford City, bringing its famous spicy chicken menu to one of London’s busiest shopping destinations. The opening marks another milestone in the brand’s rapid expansion across the UK and Europe.
Located on the second floor of Westfield Stratford City’s World Food Court, the new restaurant introduces East London diners to Dave’s signature Nashville-style hot chicken, which has gained a cult following since the company first launched in Los Angeles in 2017. The Stratford venue becomes the latest addition to the chain’s growing UK portfolio as demand for American-style hot chicken continues to rise.
The restaurant offers a straightforward but highly popular menu centred around fresh-to-order chicken tenders and chicken sliders, complemented by seasoned fries, mac and cheese, kale slaw, loaded fries, milkshakes and frozen slushers. What makes Dave’s Hot Chicken stand out is its famous seven-level spice scale, allowing customers to choose anything from No Spice all the way to the notoriously fiery Reaper level, which requires customers to sign a waiver before ordering due to its extreme heat.
To celebrate the Stratford opening, Dave’s Hot Chicken gave away 200 free chicken sliders to customers who downloaded the brand’s mobile app. The promotion operated on a first-come, firstserved basis and attracted long queues from eager customers hoping to sample the restaurant’s signature sandwich without charge.
Keyana Mohammadi, Director of Marketing for Dave’s Hot Chicken UK, said Stratford was the ideal location for the company’s continued expansion.
“We’re excited to be opening at Westfield Stratford and bringing Dave’s Hot Chicken to one of London’s most vibrant shopping and leisure destinations,”
she said.
“Stratford is the perfect location for us as we continue to expand across the UK and introduce even more people to our Nashville-style hot chicken.”
The restaurant has been designed to reflect the brand’s American roots, combining colourful streetart inspired interiors with a relaxed fast-casual dining experience. Customers can choose to dine in, grab takeaway meals or stop by for a quick lunch while shopping at Westfield Stratford.
Dave’s Hot Chicken has become one of the fastest-growing restaurant chains in the world. What began as small parking-lot food stand in East Hollywood has expanded internationally through franchising, helped by investment from several high-profile celebrities and growing popularity on social media. The company’s UK expansion is being led by the Azzurri Group, which plans to open dozens of locations across Britain over the coming years.
The arrival of Dave’s Hot Chicken further strengthens Stratford’s reputation as one of London’s leading dining destinations. Westfield Stratford City already hosts a wide variety of international restaurants, cafés and street food concepts, attracting millions of visitors each year alongside shoppers, commuters and tourists.
Industry experts believe the continued arrival of global food brands reflects East London’s growing appeal as both a commercial and leisure destination. Stratford, in particular, has undergone significant regeneration since the London 2012 Olympic Games, transforming into one of the capital’s fastest-growing retail and hospitality hubs.
With its bold flavours, customisable spice levels and celebrity-backed reputation, Dave’s Hot Chicken is expected to become another popular addition to East London’s diverse food scene. Whether visitors are looking for a mild chicken slider or brave enough to tackle the infamous Reaper heat level, the new Stratford restaurant offers a fresh taste of Nashville right in the heart of East London.
