Returning to Hackney Bridge this weekend (11 – 12 October), for its fifth year running, is the award-winning Black Eats Festival. If you’re looking to celebrate Black History Month with eats, beats and booze, this isn’t one to miss.

Expect Black-owned street food vendors, with dishes from the Caribbean, Africa and beyond. As well as a Windrush 1027 Cocktail bar, prizes from Deliveroo and others, plus pop-ups, including a Fresha x Slider Cuts booth if you’re in need of a free trim.

If that’s not sold you, there will be live DJ sets from: CHLOEKNOWS, DJ Danni, DJ Eazy, DJ Emz, DWB, ELLADHC, Halfports, Lamar G, MASTAQUE, Nassen, PDR, RBC, Sandra Omari, SAVSSOUNDS, Selecta Suave and Talia A. Darling.

In previous years, the festival has been praised for being: “the perfect way to support Black businesses” by TimeOut. Vogue has said: “Black Eats LDN has curated a delicious line-up of culinary independents” and most importantly British GQ comments: “You will indisputably find the best rice and peas in London.”.

Tickets are selling fast, so grab yours now. The festival offers an afternoon slot for all ages, 12pm – 4pm, and an evening opening for 18+ only, 5 – 9pm.
