Teenager Killed in Hackney Stabbing After London Party

A murder investigation has been launched after a teenage boy was stabbed to death following violence linked to a house party in East London.

Metropolitan Police officers were called to Towpath Walk in Hackney shortly after 7.15pm on Monday following reports of disorder involving individuals allegedly carrying machetes.

Police believe the disturbance began during a house party on the same street before violence spilled into the surrounding area.

While officers were travelling to the scene, emergency services also received reports of a stabbing and possible gunshots being heard nearby, increasing alarm among local residents.

The teenage victim was later discovered with stab wounds in nearby Poplar Close. Despite efforts by paramedics to save him, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said formal identification of the victim is still taking place while officers work to inform and support his family.

The fatal stabbing has shocked the Hackney community and renewed concerns about serious youth violence in parts of London.

Detective Chief Inspector Ben Massink said specialist officers are supporting the victim’s relatives while investigators continue urgent enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the attack.

“Our thoughts remain with the victim and his family,”

he said.

He added that increased police patrols have been deployed across the area to reassure local residents following the incident.

Investigators believe a significant number of people were present at the time of the stabbing, with some witnesses reportedly recording parts of the violence on mobile phones.

Police are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or captured footage to come forward as detectives work to piece together exactly what happened.

Officers also urged members of the public not to share videos or images of the incident on social media out of respect for the victim’s family.

No arrests have yet been confirmed.

The investigation remains ongoing as forensic teams continue examining the scene and detectives review potential evidence, including mobile phone footage and local CCTV recordings.

The incident is the latest in a series of violent crimes involving teenagers in London, where concerns around knife crime and youth safety remain high.

Community leaders and local residents are expected to call for increased action to tackle violent crime among young people following the fatal attack in Hackney.
