Total sentencing of over 80 years following targeted shooting in Canning Town.
On Friday the 23rd of January 2026, the four attackers who orchestrated a targeted shooting in Canning Town were jailed for a total of more than 80 years. Justice was served at the Snaresbook Court, after two brothers were shot in the early hours of the 26th October 2024 while walking their dog in Thorne Close.
Around 2am on the 26th October 2024, the two brothers were chased down the street by two men who had jumped out of a stolen Audi. One of the victims, aged 36 was shot through the hand, while his younger brother, aged 28 was shot in the back, leaving him paralysed on one side of his lower body.
Officers recovered five 9mm Makarov bullet casings at the scene, while CCTV audio captured the sound of seven gunshots fired by the attackers. While at the scene officers also recovered a balaclava, containing the DNA of one of the attackers.
Detective Sergeant Ryan Findleton, who led this investigation said ‘this was a shocking and targeted act of violence that left an innocent man with life changing injuries’. Adding that he hopes the sentencing passed at Snaresbook Court on Friday has provided some comfort for the victims and the wide community of East London.
The investigation involved tracing the stolen Audi using CCTV footage, this led to identification of the group of four. The work identified Ronnie Hill, Esmaela Seidi, a 16-year-old boy and Kennedy Senga. The four males had travelled from South Woodford to Canning Town armed with weapons, knives and a loaded gun.
After an eight-week trail, the jury concluded a guilty verdict for all four men on the 20th October 2025.
Ronnie Hill, aged 18, was found guilty of two counts of murder, and the possession of a firearm with the intent to endanger life. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 24 years in jail.
Esmaela Seidi, also aged 18 was charged on two counts of attempted murder, and was sentenced to 18 and a half years in prison.
Both the 16-year-old from Canning Town, and Kennedy Senga, aged 19 were charged with two counts of attempted murder and the intent to endanger life through the possession of a firearm. The 16-year-old boy has been sentenced to 14 and a half years in prison, and Kennedy Senga has been sentenced to 21 years in prison.
In a final statement, Detective Sergeant Ryan Findleton warned those who carry weapons will face serious consequences, adding that the police will ‘do everything in our power to ensure criminals who threaten the safety of Londoners face a lengthy time behind bars.’
